I had an interesting discussion with a musician the other day, about divine channeling of the creative spirit, and whether we pose a risk to the creative spark by actively pursuing inspiration, rather than simply feeling inspired.
Recently, I was going through my daily routine, when several phrases of language came to me unbidden and I recognized them as inspiration for a new short. These ideas "came" to me, but I now see it as my own task to develop the ideas, to try to express myself through these ideas I've had. But, were they "my" ideas? Does it really matter, after all is said and done?
What do you think? What is your creative process like?
